Uranus notes

Uranus transits are somewhat difficult to write about because the very nature of the planet is unpredictable. It is the 'Wild Card' planet, either the Joker or The Fool. Whatever happens, it's sure to happen fast and unexpectedly. If you aren't caught somewhat off guard, it's not really Uranus.

So...Uranus can be an accident, a sudden shift or change, or a blinding experience of enlightenment or sudden knowing.

It is the suddenness of awareness that is the key. What level it works at is pretty variable, but can be a good report card on how you're handling the areas of life it's touching. Other good Uranus words are shocking, electric and surprise.

Uranus has a high frequency or rate of vibration, while Saturn and Pluto operate on the other side of the scale. Pluto is a bassline, while Uranus is in the range of sounds/vibes only dogs can hear.

As an 'airy' outer planet that is thought to be especially friendly with Scorpio, it's an important symbol of energy in various forms (like prana and kundalini).

A good way to get a grip on one's relationship with Uranus is to look at it's opening square at age 21. The natal aspects and house position are also useful to keep in mind when thinking about the 'baggage' carried with it as it contacts planets and houses. The contacts to social and outer planets(Jupiter out) can help clarify the ease or difficulty Uranus encounters in bringing change. Hard contacts to Sa and Pl can be especially 'vibrant', as what need to be changed may be razed to the ground instead of restructured or revitalized. Uranus and Neptune are considered a particular sort of pair, and learning how they function together/similarly can grow by leaps and bounds be delving into some of the writing of esoteric astrologers.

I'm in the midst of a major Uranus transit myself, and its been 'interesting'. Years ago I put out the call for certain types of relationship experiences, and the universe has answered back with some refreshingly unexpected faces during the contact to Venus...
